Our Team

Gray Oak Power’s team brings in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of power markets and assets. The team has led the development, acquisition, operations, financing and re-financing of numerous power projects around the world. Gray Oak Power’s team has access to a broad network of industry professionals with proven track records to support its efforts to power Data Center in the US and abroad. Gray Oak Power’s management team has more than 100 years of combined experience having developed, built and/or owned nearly 10GW of power generation and related energy infrastructure worldwide. Members of the management team have been part of AEI, Enron, Union Fenosa and AES.

Prior to launching Grey Oak Power, and together with Denham Capital, the team successfully secured a 1.6GW capacity contract in 2021 Brazilian power auction. The team also operated the Breitener assets in Manaus where operational improvements led to a significant uplift in financial results. The team also developed Jandaia, a 2.4GW LNG to Power project in the State of Ceara in Brazil. During 2024 and 2025 the team exited from all its positions in Brazil.

Previously, Gray Oak Power’s management team were senior executives at AEI, a $10-billion revenue power/utility platform that became the largest private infrastructure company in Houston, according to Houston Chronicle. AEI owned and operated energy assets with over 2,270 MW of power plants, 7.4 million electricity and gas distribution customers, and an extensive network of gas transportation pipelines. While at AEI, aside from running the day-to-day operations, the Gray Oak Power team was directly responsible for the company’s threefold growth and executed a divestiture strategy achieving significant returns for its shareholders.

Gray Oak Power is backed by Denham Capital, a leading global energy and infrastructure investment firm with over 20 years of experience and a strong track record in both conventional and renewable power.
Denham Capital’s Sustainable Infrastructure (DSI) platform has developed or built more than 10 gigawatts of power generation projects worldwide—approximately half in thermal generation and half in renewables—with over 80% of capacity coming from large-scale (>100 MW) assets.

Today, DSI’s strategy is centered on the growing intersection between data centers and power infrastructure. Denham views this sector as a generational investment opportunity – where power reliability, speed of delivery, and development expertise are the defining constraints. Through Gray Oak Power, Denham brings its experience as a proven power builder to deliver scalable, high-reliability solutions for the digital age.
